Halloween Week Happenings…...

What a wonderful week of Halloween fun and learning
As children arrive, daily, they select an activity that reinforces a skill, develops strategies or builds fine motor skills.

Our letter this week was "O" we learned the long sound, but concentrated on the short, "o" sound.

We LOVE to dance to our silly "BOTZ" songs

(Sometimes I can load the link directly, other times you will have to go to Youtube via the link:(

A few of our O activities

Miss Paula learned that oatmeal is even messier than glitter.
This is supposed to be an 8 legged "O"ctopus, that admittedly looks like a jellyfish!
Channing and Ellie stamp dot blotters on to an "Oo" pattern.

Crew and Hunter make an "O"range "O"ctopus  and practice O's.
***For an O we make a C and "go on around."  That encourages the Prepper to start the  O in the proper place (about 2:00 o'clock).

There is ample time to choose books and "free play" learning centers.
During this time we meet briefly in small groups.
Eliza shows off her "O" that she made with construction straws.
Bree chooses to make play dough Halloween shapes.
 Blocks remain a daily favorite.
Campbell and Owen  select a books to read.

 Lincoln works on a puzzle
Channing loves the construction straws.
Hunter wrote a morning message~look close…Dear Children..I's November…We can have fun…Love Miss Paula!!!
(Amazing!)

The Halloween princess (Sarah) has a pet Cheetah Cat (Allie) love playing "animals."

And the Awesome Costumes…………….
 Hunter is Raphael
 And so is Charlotte!
How about a game with Luigi? (Crew)
Inspired by "Monster High" (Rayna)
I felt totally safe with Campbell Batman and Owen Captain America!

Sarah was a beautiful Halloween Princess
It's pretty Adeline hiding behind that Batgirl mask!
Dylan LOVES Star Wars and came as Darth Vader
"Arrr" its the pirate Lincoln.
 Another beautiful storybook character, Elsie.
"Princess Peach, " Bree,  from Super Mario Brothers
Little Bo Peep, so sweet, Eden.
 Another Disney Princess, Eliza.
A beautiful Cheetah Cat, Allie. (She whispered to me she really wanted to wear her bloody vampire outfit!)
A powerful Power Ranger, Channing.

We trick-o-treated at out neighbor classes and even visited a business next door!

We had three stations at our party:

~Painting our Pumpkins~

~Making Skeletons~

~Bean Bag Toss~

~Minds in Motion ~

Minds in motion is based on bodies in motion- So many of my pictures are blurs! Remember each activity has a specific correlation to learning!!

P u r p l e
The Children arrive anxiously, Fridays, ready to share their clothing color and their letter show and tell. Here are several…*

Charlotte is pointing and sharing to every piece of purple she has on!
Owen shares that he plays for a PURPLE sports team.

Adeline showed off several shades of purple.

Like me, Campbell and I added a pit of purple at school!

It's a perfect purple hat from another costume! Good thinking, Lincoln.

Crew shared his great looking purple stripes.

Hunter wears a purple monster hat.

Eden shows her various  shades of purple.

Dylan showed some cool purple "dinos."

It's purple bow, shirt, and jacket trim for Bree.

A purple butterfly on a purple shirt for Elsie.

Channing showed the purple writing on his shirt.

Eliza has shades of purple and a purple unicorn!

Parents- I love the imagination you and your "Prepper" use in coming up with pictures and items that start with the letter of the week…BTW next week your assignment is "Qq!"

Bree really went all out: An Old Oval ring and Oatmeal!

Adeline's brother, Owen.

Dylan brought an Octagon puzzle piece.

Sarah (in her purple pants) shows a "stop" sign with an o in the word and shows us that it is an octagon.

Rayna, in her beautiful purple scarf and dress, showed us her orange (with a pumpkin face.)

You got to love this, Charlotte brought in an Otoscope! Look at those O's …and she told us what it was!

Here is the conversation: Lincoln,"This is Shrek, he starts with O." Miss Paula, "He is really cute, Lincoln, but Shrek's name doesn't start with an O." ……….Lincoln, "Well, he is an Ogre!"  (humbled again by the smarts of a 4 year old)

Eden shares an Owl.

Elsie has a microphOne.

Campbell showed us an Oakland Raiders helmet.

Owen showed us his "Owen" book and Crew brought his book, "Otis."

Our Bible verse this week was, "Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, " Psalms 118:1 (lots of  O's) Let this beautiful fall be a reminder of His majesty and Our many blessings…..

** My aides and I attempt to snap a shot of every "Prepper," especially with their color and show and tell, but needless to say, some escape me! My apologies
