A Packed Week With our Preppers!

                     Our Packed "Preppers" Week

We began our exciting week with the introduction of the "Ii" letter and sound, the color orange, the shape Oval and the number 5.
You can see the "Indian Corn" in the picture.

One of our centers to choose was practicing an I and decorating an iguana. Later in the week we painted a fire engine and circled the F, and the i's in the pages' title.

These young ladies and gentlemen are making "Insects" to decorate their "I" page. We learned that insects have 3 body parts and 6 legs. The highlight may have been using the normally forbidden "Sharpies." They were proud of their carefulness!
At our sensory table, we became "Inventors."  Most of us invented necklaces and bracelets.  Hunter "invented" nun chucks!

Our "I" song was to the tune of "London Bridges."
I am learning letter I
letter I
letter I
I am learning letter I
(The sound)     "i" "i" "i,i"
Then we added verses like.....
Insect starts with letter I
letter I
letter I
Insect starts with letter I
(The sound)     "i" "i" "i,i".

Our color for the week was Orange.

Click here and have your child sing along.

It was a precious pleasure to have our "Poppies" "Grandpas" "Nannas" "Grannys" "Me Mas" "Pe Paws"...........visiting our room!

Here are most of our items that start with I

Here is Allie's insect. (and it's orange!)

Hunter has an "Ironman."

Charlotte shared an insect.

Campbell's family likes "I U" football.  (So does Miss Paula's family)

Eden has an Orange iguana!

Dylan has another interesting insect.

Bree's items are not babies or dolls, they are "infants."

 Adeline shared an ice cube!

Inkpads were Elsie's choice.

Dane showed us a picture of a real iguana.

More creepy insects from Lincoln.

Crew shared a book on Icebergs.

Sarah brought ivy from her grandmother's house.

Rayna shared ice cream.

Channing brought an Indiana Football player.

Here we are again making our letter of the week!

Minds in Motion developing learning connections in the brain!

We measured a few of us with nonstandard units. These are blue blocks.  Campebell was 8 blocks tall while most of the others that were measured were about 7.

We closed out our Fire Safety week with an amazing visit with Dane's dad, a firefighter.

The "Preppers" were completely focused as Brandon shared fire safety with an emphasis on not being frightened of a firefighter.

We finished the lesson by practicing dialing 9 1 1.

Miss Andrea read a Fire Fighting book as parents came to pick up their children.
