eXamining Teeth and the letter X

eXamining Teeth and the letter X

We began our Dental week with a great visit from Dr. Chris Jenkins!

A five year old has 20 precious teeth.  We learned that it is important to care for them~

We practiced on babies!

We drew sugar bugs on teeth, then scrubbed them off

We worked on a challenging tooth paste puzzle

We picked food items out of a bag. If they were healthy foods, we put them on our smiling tooth.  If they were foods we should be careful about~ and brush right after eating, we put them on the sad tooth.

Some of our Xx activities….

Painting a magic X to see how many x's appear

We made a pretend X-ray!

A few show and tells...

We learned to play tic-tac-toe

We worked on reading simple sentences on teams (our friends on our team could help us)

We can read things like:

I like red.

You and I can see the black cat.

The red fox ran to the log.

We played a roll and read game to practice our words.

We practiced our new word "at" -that makes many new words by adding a consonant to the front~

And we played! Yay!

In Minds in Motion you will see lots of  monitored spinning, jumping, pushing and balancing.  This helps stimulate the vestibular system that helps us learn and pay attention~these activities strengthen muscles and increases co-ordination

Rocking, spinning, stomping and other physical movement through space helps children’s brain development and their ability to pay attention, by stimulating the vestibular (inner ear) system.

Our Bible Story focused on Jesus calling his disciples to follow Him and spread the word that God loves everyone. We close our Bible Story time with a prayer and then on to snacks! Thanks to Miss Angie (Dylan's mom) who came to volunteer twice this week to give us stickers for learning our letters, numbers and words!

Blessings to all, Miss Paula
